Aqua Aerobics Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Bubble Busters Aqua Aerobics — low-impact, instructor-led fitness in our heated indoor pool. Memberships are month-to-month for adults aged 18 and over.
Yes! We run classes year-round, even through winter.

Programme & Eligibility

  1. Aqua Aerobics (water aerobics) is a group fitness programme held in our indoor pool. Classes are led by qualified instructors and are designed for general fitness, mobility, and enjoyment in water — not for competitive swimming training.
  2. Participation is limited to persons aged 18 and over. By enrolling, you confirm that each registered participant meets this age requirement.
  3. Membership packages are sold as complete weekly plans (for example, Tuesday and Thursday mornings, or Friday afternoons). When you select a paired-day package, you are enrolled for all sessions included in that package.
  4. An emergency contact name and telephone number must be provided for every participant at enrolment and kept up to date.

Year-Round Classes

  1. Aqua Aerobics runs twelve months of the year in our heated indoor pool (approximately 30–32°C), so you can keep moving comfortably in every season.
  2. Class times and the weekly timetable may be adjusted from time to time for operational reasons. We will communicate material changes as early as practicable.

Fees & Payments

  1. Monthly membership fees depend on the package you select. Current published packages include Tuesday & Thursday at 08:15 (R600 per month) and Friday at 17:00 (R400 per month). Fees are subject to change; any increase will be communicated in advance.
  2. Membership is month-to-month. The full monthly fee for your package is payable in advance for each calendar month, including January and December.
  3. A once-yearly administration fee of R149 is payable on enrolment and each year thereafter on the anniversary of your enrolment. This uses the same annual admin fee as our children's swim memberships.
  4. Upon registration on bubblebusters.co.za, you must provide valid bank card details. Subsequent monthly payments are processed automatically through our trusted payment processor. Your card details are not stored by Bubble Busters; they are handled securely by the processor.
  5. If a payment is declined, our payment processor may retry until the payment succeeds. Please ensure sufficient funds are available to avoid interruption to your membership.
  6. When you enrol or re-enrol, your first payment follows our standard billing rules: if you start on or before the 10th of the month, the full month is charged; if you start after the 10th, a pro-rata amount may apply for the remainder of that month. You may also choose to start on the 1st of the following month.
  7. Participants aged 65 or older on the invoice date qualify for a R100 monthly pensioner discount off the package fee. This discount is applied automatically when date of birth confirms eligibility.
  8. The pensioner discount cannot be combined with a promotional code or other promotional discount on the same invoice. Where both could apply, only the greater single discount will be used — never both.
  9. Fees remain payable during scheduled school closures over the festive season (approximately two to three weeks over Christmas and New Year), the Easter break (approximately five days), and public holidays when no classes are held.

Cancellation & Notice

  1. You may cancel your Aqua Aerobics membership at any time through your online account. One full calendar month’s notice is required, ending on the last day of that notice month.
  2. For example, if you cancel on 8 September, your membership remains active (and fees remain payable) through 31 October; your last day of attendance is 31 October.
  3. Cancellations must be submitted through the online system. Cancellations made only by email, WhatsApp, or telephone are not valid until confirmed in the online system.
  4. We do not offer payment holidays or paused memberships. Consistent attendance supports your fitness goals and helps us plan class capacity.

Closures & Operational Cancellations

  1. Bubble Busters may close the pool over the festive period, Easter, and on public holidays. No classes are held on those days; monthly fees remain due.
  2. We may cancel a class for instructor illness, essential maintenance, or other operational reasons. Where practicable we will notify you in advance. Cancelled classes are not refunded or credited unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Absences & Missed Classes

  1. Missed classes are not automatically rescheduled or refunded. Monthly membership fees are not reduced for classes you do not attend.
  2. If you know you will be absent, please notify us in advance via WhatsApp or SMS where possible. From time to time, and subject to space in another suitable class, we may offer a flexible make-up session — please ask our team; this is arranged manually and is not guaranteed.
  3. Late arrival may mean you cannot join the class in progress for safety and group flow. Please arrive at least ten minutes before the scheduled start time.

Lightning & Weather

  1. For safety, classes will not run during active thunder and lightning in the area. Any class cancelled for this reason will not be rescheduled or refunded.

Conduct & Pool Etiquette

  1. Follow instructor directions at all times. Running, unassisted diving, and rough behaviour in or around the pool are not permitted.
  2. Appropriate swimwear is required. A swimming cap may be required for hygiene; bring your own towel and water bottle.
  3. Enter the pool area only during your scheduled class unless a staff member invites you. Children and spectators must remain in designated areas and are not permitted in the water during adult classes unless expressly authorised.
  4. Treat staff, instructors, and fellow participants with respect. Bubble Busters reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any person whose behaviour is unsafe, disruptive, or abusive.

Health & Fitness — Not a Medical Facility

  1. Bubble Busters Swim School is not a hospital, clinic, physiotherapy practice, or other healthcare provider. Aqua Aerobics is a group fitness class in water, not medical treatment, rehabilitation, diagnosis, or supervised clinical exercise.
  2. Instructors are fitness professionals, not doctors, physiotherapists, or medical practitioners. Participation does not create a patient–practitioner relationship.
  3. You are responsible for deciding whether you are fit to exercise. Consult your doctor before starting or returning to Aqua Aerobics if you have a heart condition, are pregnant, have recently had surgery, or have any concern about exercising in water.
  4. Medical information you provide (for example, conditions or limitations) is collected only so the instructor can adapt the fitness class for safety. It is not a medical assessment, and providing it does not make Bubble Busters responsible for your health outcomes.
  5. Do not attend class if you are unwell, have an open wound, or have symptoms that could affect others (for example, contagious illness).

Emergencies

  1. In an emergency, staff may provide first aid and summon emergency medical services. This is assistance only — not medical treatment by Bubble Busters. Ambulance, hospital, and other third-party medical costs remain your responsibility.
  2. You authorise us to contact your nominated emergency contact and, where necessary, to share relevant information with emergency responders.

Belongings

  1. Personal belongings are brought to the premises entirely at your own risk. Bubble Busters is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to clothing, valuables, phones, or other property left in changing areas, on poolside, or in vehicles.

Suspension & Termination by Bubble Busters

  1. We may suspend or terminate your membership immediately if you breach these terms, behave unsafely, provide false information, or if continued participation would pose a risk to you or others.
  2. Fees already paid are not refundable when membership is terminated for breach, except where required by law.

Non-Payment

  1. If your account is in arrears, you may not attend classes until the account is brought up to date. Missed classes during a payment suspension are not credited or rescheduled.
  2. Accounts that remain unpaid may be referred for collection. You remain liable for the outstanding balance and reasonable collection costs.

Personal Information (POPIA)

  1. We process personal information (including contact details, date of birth, emergency contacts, and health-related information you choose to share) to manage your membership, billing, safety, and communication about Aqua Aerobics.
  2. Processing is done in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and our Privacy Policy. You may request access to or correction of your personal information by contacting us.

Changes & Acceptance

  1. We may update these Aqua Aerobics Terms & Conditions from time to time. The current version published on bubblebusters.co.za applies to your membership. Material changes will be communicated where reasonably practicable.
  2. By enrolling in Aqua Aerobics online, ticking the acceptance box at checkout, or continuing to attend after being notified of updated terms, you confirm that you have read and accept these terms, understand that Aqua Aerobics is fitness and not medical treatment, and agree to the indemnity below.

Indemnity Disclaimer

ANYONE ENTERING OUR PREMISES, INCLUDING THE POOL, CHANGING AREAS, AND GROUNDS, OR PARTICIPATING IN AQUA AEROBICS CLASSES, DOES SO ENTIRELY AT THEIR OWN RISK. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY SOUTH AFRICAN LAW, BUBBLE BUSTERS SWIM SCHOOL, ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, INSTRUCTORS, AND CONTRACTORS SHALL HAVE NO LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR ANY INJURY, DEATH, ILLNESS, OR LOSS OF OR DAMAGE TO ANY PROPERTY, HOWSOEVER CAUSED, INCLUDING ARISING FROM ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE OR THE INHERENT RISKS OF EXERCISE AND AQUATIC ACTIVITY (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO SLIPPING, STRAIN, CARDIOVASCULAR EVENTS, AND DROWNING-RELATED INCIDENTS DURING CLASS).

YOU WAIVE AND INDEMNIFY BUBBLE BUSTERS AND ITS PERSONNEL AGAINST ANY CLAIM BY YOU OR YOUR ESTATE OR DEPENDANTS ARISING FROM YOUR PARTICIPATION IN AQUA AEROBICS OR USE OF THE PREMISES, EXCEPT WHERE SUCH EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION IS NOT PERMITTED BY LAW — IN PARTICULAR, NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES OR LIMITS LIABILITY FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY GROSS NEGLIGENCE OR WILFUL MISCONDUCT, OR ANY OTHER LIABILITY THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED UNDER THE CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT OR OTHER APPLICABLE SOUTH AFRICAN LAW.

YOU CONFIRM THAT YOU HAVE CONSIDERED YOUR FITNESS FOR EXERCISE, HAVE OBTAINED MEDICAL ADVICE WHERE APPROPRIATE, AND ACCEPT THAT BUBBLE BUSTERS DOES NOT MEDICALLY CLEAR, TREAT, OR MONITOR PARTICIPANTS. EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE PROVIDED ON SITE IS FIRST AID AND SUMMONING OF HELP ONLY — NOT MEDICAL CARE BY BUBBLE BUSTERS.
